Class expectations

I’m very excited about this class, and the prospect of beginning my education in HTML and CSS. In my heart I believe that technology is the future of the American work force. There was an interesting piece on 60 minutes this past weekend about technology leveling the playing field for US companies, and how robots are quickly becoming our labor force. I really think that a deep understanding of how computers, websites, and the internet work, will be a valuable leg up on the competition in the year 2013 and beyond.

Web design and development are a new field for me. I’ve been a computer nerd for most of my life, but I’ve never really crossed over into the computer programming or webdesign fields. I’ve run and moderated on vBulletin style web forums before, (which I believe would give me some informal experience in HTML) but that’s basically the extent of my experience with a programming language.

Hello! My name is Brian Bees and I would like to welcome you to my CGS2821 WordPress Portfolio. This webpage will be used to store and categorize my assignments for the class. This is my first time using wordpress, but the basic layout is very intuitive, and I have experience with other websites/forums which use a similar interface.
